Littlite was originally founded as Custom Audio Electronics (CAE) in 1971, primarily dealing in audio products and doing custom audio work for production companies. CAE was eventually asked by a client to modify some theatrical lighting equipment. This began the company’s transition into the lighting industry, and shortly afterwards they introduced the RainboTM consoles, the industry’s first lighting desks specifically designed for touring. Increased interest in CAE’s lighting products led to the formation of the Littlite division. Today, Littlite lamps have become the standard worklamps in many film and television studios, radio stations, and live venues around the world.
