Radial Engineering's ProAV1 is a passive direct box designed for multimedia applications with an audio/video integrator in mind. The device has several mono and stereo inputs, which are combined into mono by a resistive mixer, which greatly simplifies signal management. To avoid the need for multiple adapters, a wide range of connections are available, including 1/4" for instruments, RCA and 3.5mm jacks for consumer electronics and computers, and a 4dB XLR input for professional operating systems. The front-panel jacks can also be used as pass-throughs to allow multiple patch points.

Custom transformers can handle exceptionally warm levels while maintaining linearity from 20Hz to 18.5kHz. The resulting flat Bessel curve is warm and natural, making the ProAV1 particularly adept at handling loud digital sources. Transformer isolation has the added benefit of eliminating ground loops that cause audio and video hum.

The ProAV1 is ideal for events where audio is interlaced with video and where audio sources may include smartphones, MP3 players and video equipment.
