The beauty of AoIP is that it makes wiring simple and effective. Traditionally, it had been expensive and limited, due to proprietary protocols. With the introduction to AES67, it is now realistic for radio stations to convert to AoIP.
Audio over IP used to be limited by proprietary protocols. You couldn't connect Brand A console to Brand B. Therefore, you had to commit to a specific manufacturer when getting into AoIP. AES67 changes this. When you see the AES67 logo, you can know that that IP console or hardware will send audio to another AES67 device without difficulty.
Simple IP is AES67 compliant. Using the Dante standard, this device can send and receive audio to any other AES67 device. Whether that is a console, switcher or other compliant piece of hardware.
Based on industry standards, Audinate created Dante, an uncompressed, multi-channel digital media networking technology, with near-zero latency and synchronization. Dante is the preferred audio networking solution that has been adopted by more audio AV manufacturers than any other networking technology. Interoperability is not a dream of the future, but a reality today. Hundreds of Dante-enabled products are available from the world’s leading manufacturers, enabling you to mix devices from multiple manufacturers.
Beauty in simplicity.
Do you have two studios you want to connect? You could use complicated punch blocks and run miles of cable. Or, you can use Simple IP. With Simple IP, you connect your audio equipment to one of our Simple IP boxes. These boxes have 8in x 8out mono connections. Allowing you to connect up to 8 audio channels in and out. Or you may do 4 in and out, if you want to use stereo.
Connect any audio hardware.
Simple IP works with any of our ARC or MARC series consoles. Using RJ45 inputs and outputs, you can quickly and easily connect any of our boards to Simple IP in seconds.
Have other hardware or consoles you want to connect? No problem. Simply connect your hardware to Simple IP via the RJ45 inputs and outputs.
Once connected to your network, the Dante Controller interface will automatically detect each Simple IP connection within seconds.
Connect using any switch.
Dante will work with any Ethernet switch. Simply connect Simple IP to your network switch and Dante will auto-detect any Dante device.
It is recommended to use faster switches, such as Gigabit (1000Mbps) switches. Dante also recommends using switches with QoS (Quality of Service).
Dante Controller
Dante Controller is a free software application that enables you to route audio and configure Simple IP devices on a Dante network. With automatic device discovery, one-click signal routing and user-editable device and channel labels, setting up a Dante network couldn't be easier.Works on MAC and Windows PC's.
