New Website Look and Direction
If you are reading this you have already seen our changes, and perhaps you didn't even realize there was a change. However, as is often the case: this has been a long time in the works and took way more effort and time than we imagined. It seemed appropriate to highlight some of these changes in our first 'new' post in this news feed.
Updated Look and FeelWhile we have refreshed the website multiple times over the last 10 years, this is the first time in almost 20 years that we have made even moderate changes to our logo, underlying color scheme, fonts, and core messaging. This is the odd part of having been in business since 1971, sometimes things that seem new have started to actually age.
Intentional Choices for NavigationWe still carry the same assortment of products by the same brands, but as we've evaluated our business we realized that we spend far too much time and effort emphasizing the products we sell and not nearly enough emphasizing the value we bring. Our new navigation tries to emphasize us while giving you access to view what we carry.
What? No E-Commerce?When we first determined the internet was likely here to stay and acquired the domain ProAudio.com in the mid-nineties, it was impossible to predict how much would change in the following 30 years. We first launched an e-commerce store in 2004 simply because that seemed like an effective method of allowing customers to better see the products we sold and potentially from time to time order some small incidentals. It was never our intention to change what was at the core of our business: consultative relationship centered sales.
What we would say is that everyone's expectations of operating an e-commerce website has changed and while we certainly appreciate it in a lot of industries (and even in our own in certain situations), we think there is a better way for many customers. We have always excelled in working with our customers and vendors to deliver an excellent overall sales process that takes communication between our customers, us, and in some cases our vendors. That method is what we are now highlighting rather than just mentioning.
