Ultra-Compact Active DI

The Radial Engineering StageBug SB-1 Acoustic is an active direct box specifically designed to provide a fast and reliable connection to your instrument and PA. In other words, it transforms the hi-Z output of your instrument - usually a 1/4" guitar jack - into a balanced low-Z signal via standard 3-pin XLR connectors. Signal balancing reduces noise and allows for longer cable runs and improves sound quality by properly matching the instrument's PA impedance and 48V phantom power, the SB-1 requires no batteries or external power to operate, just plug in and you're good to go.

The input resistance of the active circuit is 220 kΩ, which eliminates loading problems and produces a smooth warm sound for the sound reproduction system. This is especially important when connecting vintage guitars with low power microphones when you plan to record or re-amp. This unit is also equipped with -12dB, which reduces the input sensitivity of the circuit, allowing you to use louder instruments without distortion. To reduce feedback, switching the 180° polarity switch helps eliminate stage hot spots that can cause low-frequency resonance.

Designed to fit in a guitar case for players on the go, this compact DI box delivers enhanced sound reproduction. Although optimized for use with acoustic guitars, the SB-1 is also well equipped to handle electric basses and keyboards.
