Clarity, Consistency, and Durability For Any Live Sound or Recording Environment

The 2012 Compact Cardioid Microphone is an all-round pencil microphone that ensures excellent results with any instrument on the live stage. It covers a wide range of close-miking needs for any live or recording scenario. It's durable and reliable, especially for a condenser, best for single instrument pickup. The fine-tuned powerful characteristics make it an extremely flexible tool that will excel on many instruments, especially those in the high frequency range.

The 2012 is constructed to withstand rough handling on a busy live stage. It is extremely durable and has a thicker, sturdier brass body construction known for its resistance to corrosion and resistance to metal fatigue. In addition to the durable materials used, the mic grip and grille surfaces are given a protective black chrome finish, which will age gracefully.

The 2012 is a professional condenser microphone, ideal for instruments that produce high frequencies. It has a much stronger transient response than dynamic microphones, so it can capture the best sound with great accuracy.

DPA's famously flat off-axis response is very much present in the 2012. Besides a high gain-before-feedback, this feature makes it a no-brainer for sound engineers to handle bleed from other instruments at close proximity. Off-axis sounds are captured in a natural and attenuated manner.

Loud sources are no issue with the 2012. It can withstand extremely high SPLs as well as capture the most delicate sounds. With a max SPL, peak before clipping of 156 dB, the 2012, works very well on a variety of sources and can handle the roar of guitar amps, horns, loudest drums and more.
